Man Utd to bid for Bordeaux's Chamakh

Manchester United are ready to take advantage of Marouane Chamakh's contract stand-off with Bordeaux by making a move for the striker in January.

Chamakh is a free agent at the end of the season and United are preparing a £5m bid to beat Arsenal to his signature, says the Sunday Mirror.

United scouts have watched Chamakh in the last two weeks and manager Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to push for a deal.
