Manchester United forward Anthony Martial hopes that scoring for France on international duty will give him a much-needed confidence boost.
Martial has struggled at United over the past years, despite being given plenty of chances by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his preferred center forward position.
The Frenchman started for his country in a 1-1 draw against Ukraine, with Martial scoring the only goal for Les Blues.
That was his first international goal in five years.
"It was a difficult match for us, we were able to come back to the score, it was the most important," he told L'Equipe.
He added: "It's been a long time since I had not scored, so it does me a lot of good."
