Hertha Berlin midfielder Arne Maier has attracted major Premier League interest.

The Sun says both Manchester United and Arsenal are considering making a move in the January transfer window for Maier.

Similar rumours arose in September, but with January approaching and a decent few games in the Bundesliga under his belt since then, there is some renewed interest.

Maier has been likened to German veteran Toni Kroos, and with a number of caps for Germany at youth level, he will be hoping to follow Kroos into the German national team when Joachim Low announces his next squad.

Hertha Berlin value Maier at £15million, but it is likely that Arsenal or Manchester United would have to pay a lot more than that to acquire his services next month.
