Man Utd agree compo fee for Queiroz

Manchester United have agreed to release assistant manager Carlos Queiroz from his Old Trafford contract so that he can become the new coach of Portugal.

Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant met chief executive David Gill yesterday to hammer out a severance deal and is expected to be confirmed as the coach of his home country later this week.

Portugal have agreed to pay United in the region of £1million in compensation for the 55-year-old.
