Wayne Rooney knows he could be axed for Manchester United teammate Javier Hernandez in the striker's pecking order.

Rooney knows his position is coming under threat from a player he believes will become a massive Old Trafford star.

Rooney said: "He's a great finisher and a nice lad.

"He's always on the training pitch and trying to improve. He's done really well in his first season and won us a few games."
