Man City's Lescott admits growing up Aston Villa mad

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott admits opponents Aston Villa are a special club for him.

Lescott revealed he has an emotional attachment to Villa, his boyhood idols.

“It’s always special for me going to Villa Park because they are the club I supported as a lad and the first real reason I started paying attention to football,” he told City's website.

“It won’t overwhelm me or anything because obviously I was at Wolves and I couldn’t really be seen supporting Villa while I was playing for one of their rivals!"
