Man City youngster Manu Garcia revels in experience of facing Chelsea star Fabregas

Manchester City youngster Manu Garcia has revealed that he revelled in the experience of playing against idol Cesc Fabregas.

Garcia was one of the many youngsters used by Manuel Pellegrini during City's 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Chelsea in the 5th Round of the FA Cup a few weeks ago and the 18-year-old certainly put in a promising display despite the heavy defeat.

Garcia battled it out against Spanish international Fabregas at the middle of the park and the teenager has now gone on to state that it was a surreal experience for him to play against his boyhood idol.

The youngster said: "It was crazy to walk out with him and shake hands with him — it is something you've been dreaming about since I was five or six years old.

"I've seen Cesc playing World Cup finals and he's a big idol for me obviously.

"It was a great experience. We couldn't believe the first half — it was a bit mad 1-1 at half-time. We tried to do our best and I think we all did quite well.

"And I'm just thankful as well to Manuel Pellegrini to put us on — it was an amazing experience."
