Man City, Valencia warned off CSKA Moscow star Jo

CSKA Moscow are determined to keep hold of Jo, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City.

Valencia recently made a move for Jo - but their £9.6million bid failed, with CSKA reportedly looking for up to £14.8million at the very least before parting with the 20-year-old.

"At this moment we do not have any proposals for Jo," said CSKA president Yevgeny Giner told Sport.

"With Valencia we did not agree a price and so he remains in our team.

"He said he wants to remain in our team and succeed this season.

"As a footballer he is pleased to know about the interest from leading European clubs and in the future he would be happy to play in Italy or Spain.

"But now he needs to think about CSKA."

Jo admitted he was pleased to hear of the interest in him, but he was more than happy to remain at CSKA.

"Every player has to shoulder these things, there is always talk around modern football," Jo explained.

"But you need to be a professional to the end and be dedicated to your team.

"Personally these rumours do not hinder my work at all."

Jo did admit to being flattered by the interest being shown, adding: "I am naturally delighted about the offer from Valencia.

"They are a very serious and popular club, however I repeat that I am calm and all my thoughts are with CSKA."
