Manchester City were tightlipped last night over reports that Roberto Mancini had been sacked.
It broke at 4pm yesterday that Mancini had been informed his services were no longer required at City and his representatives would immediately be entering compensation negotiations.
Saturday's FA Cup humiliation at the hands of Wigan Athletic was said to have been the final straw.
However, Mancini stayed in London last night with his squad to prepare for Tuesday's Premier League game at Reading, with City refusing to comment on the speculation.
