Manchester City players are rallying around underfire teammate Mario Balotelli.
Roberto Mancini brought him into the first team while coach at Inter and was sure he would be a hit in English football.
He does have 10 goals from his 20 starts but even Mancini could not forgive his actions last Thursday and has fined him two weeks' wages, totalling £144,000.
City defender Vincent Kompany said: "The club always stands behind him. Like anything in life, everyone makes mistakes.
"But, if he learns from his mistakes, then he will be the player everyone believes that he can be."
