Manchester City's Sergio Aguero is reportedly facing a three-game suspension.
The Argentine striker elbowed West Ham United defender Winston Reid during his side's 3-1 win at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Aguero lashed out at Reid, hitting him in the throat with his elbow, in the 76th minute of the contest which floored the New Zealand international.
Some pundits felt Aguero was lucky not to be shown a red card by referee Andre Marriner which suggests he could be facing retrospective action.
The Sun is reporting that Aguero 'is set for a potential three-match ban' which could force him to miss the tantalising Manchester derby with Manchester United on September 10.
The neighbours will clash at Old Trafford following the international break.
