Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany says giving up the Belgium captaincy was the right decision for all.
Kompany, due to last season's injury problems, sacrificed the leadership to Chelsea ace Eden Hazard before the World Cup.
He explained: "I hate selfishness. I really hate that. I knew at a certain point that the captain's armband had to go to Eden and from the first minute I knew that I wanted to support him completely.
"If I had made such a problem two or three years ago, then I would not have been reached the World Cup or the group might have been less strong. That captain's armband lies with someone else, okay.
"Let us also make you a leader. That's more important to me."
