Manchester City striker Darius Vassell has entered into talks with Turkish Super Lig club Ankaragucu in regards to a potential move.

With the likelihood of City manager Mark Hughes bringing in some huge names during this transfer window, Vassell may opt for a fresh start.

According to Ankaragucu chairman Cengiz Topel Yildrim, negotiations with the former England international are going well.

"We've completed the pre-negotiations with Darius Vassell," he told Radyospor.

"We aim to secure a big signing as this year is our centenary.

"He [Vassell] will visit the city and our installations. Then he will make a decision.

"I hope we can include him in our squad."
