Man City's Dzeko lays blame on Lazio's Lulic for heavy Bosnia defeat

Edin Dzeko has indicated that Senad Lulic was to blame for Bosnia-Herzegovina's 6-2 Euro qualifying defeat to Portugal last night.

The Lazio defender was sent off with the score at 3-1 in the 54th minute for two bookable offences in quick succession before they made it 3-2 but the Portuguese side cut loose with three goals in the final 18 minutes and Manchester City's Dzeko sees that as the turning point of the match.

"We suffered six goals because of Lulic seeing red," Dzeko said. "When he was sent off, it was 3-1.

"With 10 players it is practically impossible to turn a score around. With the same number of players on the field, it would be hard already."

The loss forced Bosnia-Herzegovina to miss out on the 2012 European Championships but despite the disappointment, Dzeko insists that the entire squad would like to see manager Safet Susic remain in his current role.

"It is not just me who wants him to continue, but the whole team," he added.
