Manchester City are stepping up their bid for Barcelona fullback Daniel Alves.
O Globo says City are planning to rumble Barca's contract talks with the Brazil international.
City will offer the enterprising defender 8 million per season as well as handing the Blaugrana a cheque for 34m in order to secure his services for next season.
Alves' current contract expires in the summer of 2012, and discussions have been ongoing between club and player with regards to an extension until 2016.
