Some of Manchester City's stars turned on each other in the dressing room after the 3-0 loss to Tottenham at White Hart Lane midweek.
Midfielder Gareth Barry admitted that there was a rift between the players following the disappointing result that left egos damaged and Mark Hughes clinging onto his job as manager.
"There was a lot of hurt players in there (dressing room) and the lads were really at each other's throats," the England international said.
"A few words were said in the dressing room and we want to put things right.
"One of the reasons we were so disappointed with the defeat against Spurs was because they are one of the teams who are challenging us to be in the top four.
"It was a more disappointed dressing room tonight because of the way we've lost. But there was nothing malicious - we are desperate to put things right."
City slumped to eighth on the table after the loss, six points from the top four but with a game in hand.
