Man City plan £100M spend on big two as Arsenal swap offer mooted

Manchester City are ready to splash out another £100 million this week on two more additions to Pep Guardiola's squad.

The Daily Star says Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez and West Brom's ex-Manchester United defender Jonny Evans remain the immediate targets for the Manchester City manager.

High-level talks were held at The Etihad last week to sanction a final push before the transfer window closes – even though City have already spent in excess of £200m this summer.

City are now expected to have one final attempt to sign Sanchez, 28, for between £65m and £70m, despite Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger still insisting he's not for sale.

Defender Jason Denayer, 22, could also be offered as part of the deal, as Wenger is understood to have an interest in the Belgium international, who was on loan at Sunderland last season.

A deal for Evans, though, looks more obtainable for Manchester City at £30m.
