Manchester City are set to swoop for former Real Madrid junior Ruben Sobrino.

The young attacking midfielder is with SD Ponferradina and has been scouted by City for the past 18 months.

Marca says talks are now at an advanced over deal which will see Sobrino move to Manchester.

The midfielder will initially join City as part of Patrick Vieira's U21 development squad.

Sobrino has been likened to Newcastle United strike Ayoze Perez.
