Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is eyeing Wigan Athletic left-back Leighton Baines.
Having already wrapped up a deal for Real Sociedad's left-sided defender Javi Garrido, Eriksson is also ready to join the race for England U21 star Baines.
The Telegraph says Eriksson has made a late entry into the race to sign Baines by offering Manchester City forward Darius Vassell in a player-plus-cash package worth £6 million.
