Manchester City are willing to include players in their offer for Derby County youngster Will Hughes.

The Mirror says City are lining up a transfer-window bid for Derby County's ­brilliant young midfielder Hughes.

Assistant David Platt made the trek to watch the teenage ace in action at Brighton on Saturday after making a firm inquiry for him.

Boss Roberto Mancini wants an extra body in midfield and his interest in Hughes is for now and not just the future.

Derby want around £10million for Hughes but City could offer £6m and a possible swap or two.
