Manchester City assistant manager Fausto Salsano is coy over their pursuit of Napoli stars Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
The South American pair have been linked with City.
Salsano said: "It's too early to talk about Cavani. We've just finished celebrating and will soon have a meeting to plan out potential signings. We are in stand-by, but will certainly operate on the transfer market to sign important players.
"Our squad is competitive and we will reinforce in midfield and further in front, with a few wingers who have different characteristics. The objective is three or four important players to add to an already strong side.
"Ezequiel Lavezzi? I don't think he will play for us next season. We have four world class strikers, though Lavezzi is wanted by all the top clubs and above all those who can afford to buy him, including Manchester City."
