Man City, Newcastle ended Berahino pursuit when he left agent

Saido Berahino was reportedly on the radar of both Manchester City and Newcastle United earlier in the transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, both clubs were ready to make £20million offers for the West Bromwich Albion striker before he parted ways with agent Aidy Ward.

Berahino's switch from Ward to the Stellar Group agency intensified Tottenham's interest in the player before the Baggies blocked his move to White Hart Lane.

It is believed that with Berahino then devoid of Ward, City and Newcastle dropped off the scent, leaving Spurs as the only club who were seriously interested in the England U2 international.
