Man City name Tevez in Premier League squad

Manchester City have named Carlos Tevez in their Premier League squad.

The striker was last night attempting to diffuse the latest furore about his relationship with the club by denying he made the comments attributed to him in the German magazine Kicker on Thursday.

In the published interview, it was said that Tevez felt the way he had been treated by City was "strange" and he did not care what people thought about his conduct.

However, his representatives later poured cold water on the entire interview.

Tevez remains in Argentina and whilst there has been speculation he is about to return, it is understood that is not going to happen immediately.
