Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has declared Yaya Toure as "awesome" after his comeback.

Toure scored twice in City's win at Crystal Palace for his first game of the season.

"I'm happy to be back to my best, my start at City after the injury was better than I expected," said Gundogan.

"(Pep) Guardiola has a precise idea of what he wants, sometimes it works and sometimes not.

"Gladbach are a good team and playing here is difficult, but if we want to win the competition we have to do well against all as happened with Barcelona."

He added: "Yaya Toure? He's awesome He had not played for a long time and showed us what he can give."
