Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong says finishing in third place would be the "cherry on the cake" for this season.
City need victory over Bolton Wanderers to be sure of automatic Champions League qualification.
"It's always tough against Bolton and they are strong on their own ground, but we have to go there, be mentally strong and give 100% because we can't rely on Fulham beating Arsenal," De Jong told City's website.
"If we do what we need to do we don't need favours from anyone else. It's been a long season but finishing third would be the cherry on the cake."
