Manchester City midfielder David Silva has spoken of being inspired by Michael Laudrup.

Laudrup played for both Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain.

He said, "When I was growing up, my idol was Laudrup. I always followed him closely when I saw the matches he played.

"I also always saw Juan Carlos Valeron coming from the same city as myself.

"In addition, I watched many other players who played my position so I could constantly improve my game."
