Manchester City will seek a new centre-half signing in January over long-term fitness concerns for Vincent Kompany.

The Daily Mail says City will not look to buy a new goalkeeper, despite Joe Hart's ongoing problems, but they are in the market for a central defender after Kompany's injuries have turned out to be more serious than expected.

Belgian physios can't see Kompany making a playing return for another three weeks.
