Manchester City legend Dennis Tueart feels their English core can lead them to glory this season.
Tueart insists Manchester City will shrug off the latest Carlos Tevez crisis and go on to win the title - thanks to their English heart.
He told the Sunday Mirror: "Tevez has insulted the fans and his team-mates. I can't believe what he is doing. What's he trying to achieve?
"I wasn't surprised something like this happened, but I was surprised it was him.
"It was inevitable that when you throw money at a team one player behaves like this - although I thought it would be maybe Balotelli or Adebayor, not him.
"But we've got Englishmen like Joe Hart, James Milner, Micah Richards and Gareth Barry.
"They know what it takes - what it means - for English fans to win the English title.
"The great Man United teams had that kind of a core - the Nevilles, Butt, Scholes, Beckham - and Barcelona have a core of Catalans.
"The great City team I played for had (Colin) Bell, (Dave) Watson, (Peter) Barnes, (Joe) Royle and me."
