Chelsea are sudden favourites to sign Napoli fullback Faouzi Ghoulam.

Off contract in June, Ghoulam was interesting Chelsea and Manchester City this season.

However, Calciomercato.com says City boss Pep Guardiola has jumped out of the running for his signature.

Chelsea are now expected to move for Ghoulam as Blues manager Antonio Conte seeks competition for Marcos Alonso.

With Ghoulam running down his contract, signing the fullback for a knockdown fee in January would suit Blues management.
