Man City hero Aguero facing Bolton spit storm backlash

Sergio Aguero will face a backlash against Bolton Wanderers on Sunday.

The new Manchester City strike hero was sent off on his last visit to the Reebok after spitting at Matt Taylor.

Aguero, playing for Atletico Madrid, had only been on the pitch 12 minutes as a sub before sparking a melee in the UEFA Cup third-round tie.

He reacted angrily to a heavy Taylor challenge during the fiery tie in February 2008.

Aguero, 23, who bagged a brilliant double on his City debut against Swansea on Monday, has tried to defend the flashpoint ahead of Sunday's clash.

But the £35million buy admitted: "I remember the incident. I was spitting in the direction of the player - but not to the player.

"However, the officials thought that and suspended me. I don't know what the reception will be like. As long as our fans welcome me, I'll be happy."
