Manchester City failed with a bid in August for Espanyol fullback Aaron Martin.

Sport says City made an unsuccessful €20m bid for Aaron toward the end of the summer transfer window.

They have ramped up their interest in him again after Benjamin Mendy recently suffered a long-term injury, although they are reportedly keen on Valencia's Jose Gaya too.

Aaron's buyout clause will increase to €40m at the end of June, and he is under contract until 2022.
