Man City fullback Walker fears England career might be over

Kyle Walker fears his England career might be over.

The Manchester City fullback was overlooked by Gareth Southgate for his latest Three Lions squad to face Kosovo and Bulgaria.

Southgate stated he wanted to take a look at younger fullbacks Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Manchester United).

Despite the latter pulling out with injury, Southgate has not called Walker to replace him.

The Daily Star quotes a source close to Walker saying: "Southgate wants to look at alternative players in that position.

"But we remain sceptical about those reasons. Southgate could be looking for an excuse to get younger ones in and might not be being totally straight. The proof will come when he names his next squad for the round of games in October."
