Manchester City fullback Kyle Walker says Manchester United were always going to fight back in last night's Carabao Cup clash.

City defeated United 3-1 in the first-leg of their semifinal, having been 3-0 ahead before halftime.

Walker, impressive for the 90 minutes, said: “The first half was great.

"They came out fighting in the second half and changed their system as they had to because they were 3-0 down in the Manchester derby.

"But fair play to us, we got the result we needed and now it's back to the Etihad."
