Manchester City fullback Wayne Bridge is delighted with his loan move to Brighton.

Bridge is hoping to help Brighton push for promotion to the Premier League.

"My agent called me and told me about Brighton through being friends with Gus and when he told me about possibly going I was very interested," Bridge told the club's official website.

"It's a great chance for me to get back playing football again, so as soon as it came along I jumped at it.

"It's attractive because of the new stadium and the way Gus likes to play football. I'm pleased to come here and hopefully help the club push for promotion.

"As a defender we get a lot more of the ball playing the way Brighton do at the back, I enjoy that a lot more. Everyone knows how Brighton play and I'm excited about being here.

"It's a new experience for me and one that I'm looking forward to."
