Man City fear fans being ripped off

Manchester City fear fans will be charged through the nose for their Champions League tie at Ajax.

The Daily Star says Ajax have sparked anger with Blues fans after charging them £65 for the Champions League Group D encounter at the Amsterdam ArenA on October 24.

It means the Dutch champions are charging £12 more than they did for last week's home clash with Jose Mourinho's men.

Club officials have attempted to justify the price hike by insisting the Blues have a higher profile than Real, who have won the European Cup a record nine times!

An Ajax spokesman said: "We admit that it is a lot of money, but the champions of the best league in the world are visiting Amsterdam.

"Of course, Real Madrid is top class as well, but this is the third year in a row that we are in the same group as Real. Therefore, they are one level lower, in terms of the price scheme."
