Manchester City face a homegrown crisis this summer.
City are concerned about their quota of home-produced players and plan to address that situation in the summer.
The Daily Star Sunday says at the start of the season, City's eight homegrown players were Clichy, Joe Hart, Richard Wright, Dedryck Boyata, James Milner, Frank Lampard, Scott Sinclair and John Guidetti.
France's Clichy, Sweden's Guidetti and Belgium's Boyata qualified through clubs being allowed to include foreign players who have been affiliated to an FA academy for three years before turning 21 years old.
But of those eight, Guidetti and Sinclair are now on loan at Celtic and Aston Villa respectively and both are expected to make permanent exits once the season is over.
In addition, the futures of Milner, who is out of contract in the summer, third-choice goalkeeper Wright and Lampard, who will eventually join City's sister club New York City FC, are all subject to doubt.
City do still have England defender Micah Richards, who is on loan in Italy at Fiorentina, on their books at the moment - but he will be out of contract when he leaves there and will not return to The Etihad.
