Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo wants to sign for La Liga champions Barcelona this month.

The Portuguese full back is out of favor at City with manager Pep Guardiola after a winter bust up.

While he did have a loan spell during the second half of last season at Bayern Munich, the Germans decided against a permanent move.

Per Fabrizio Romano, he has now agreed personal terms with Barca, but a deal is not close.

The two clubs must agree on a fee, as City will only settle for a sale, not a loan deal.

Romano added on the matter: “Xavi wanted to sign him since January as a priority target with talks now ongoing with Man City over a deal structure."
