Man City defender Doyle enjoying Sunderland loan: My future...?

Manchester City defender Callum Doyle is enjoying his football on-loan with Sunderland.

The 18-year-old has been a revelation at Sunderland on loan this season, and has been a key factor in the Black Cats' challenge for promotion in League One.

“I like to think in the present and like to keep doing what I'm doing now and then hopefully good things will come in the future," Doyle told theShields Gazette

But he added that, after quickly becoming first choice, he is getting everything from the move that he'd hoped for.

"This is why I came to Sunderland because the gaffer Lee Johnson likes to play out from the back and that's my game," he said. “I like to bring the ball out from the back and it does suit me a lot."

As well as developing his football, moving to a club with big crowds in tier three also accustoms him to playing with an audience, which you rarely get in junior football.

“It's a big challenge but it's great that you have the fans behind you and it really gets you up for the game," Doyle added.

“It's one of the reasons I came here to experience the crowd and experience what it feels like playing in a big stadium.

“I feel like the club itself, it's a big club. The fans are amazing so it didn't really take much convincing to come."
