Manchester City are assessing the progress of on-loan Granada star Yangel Herrera.

The 22-year-old has been in excellent form with the Spanish side this term, and will face off against City's rivals Manchester United in the Europa League quarter finals.

According to Goal, City are considering adding Herrera to Pep Guardiola's first team squad for next term.

The likes of Southampton, West Ham United and several La Liga clubs are interested in the midfielder as well.

Herrera is approaching the end of a two year loan spell at Grenada this term, and will be hoping he has done enough to convince City to give him a first team opportunity.
