Manchester City are launching a bid for Boca Juniors left-back Valentin Barco.

Barco is also a target for Juventus and Brighton.

However, the Daily Star says City are confident burning off all rivals to sign the youngster.

City aim to do business for around €8m.

The deal is being driven by Joan Patsy, a key man in the City Football Group. He is City's South American-based Director of Football and brought Julian Alvarez in from River Plate last January.
