Manchester City hope to sign Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o without having to hand him a world record contract.
The Mail on Sunday says City believe they can persuade Eto'o to leave Barcelona, with an offer of £160,000 per week - equal to the package enjoyed by Robinho.
The Cameroon striker's stalling tactics have so far failed to flush out an alternative bidder, such as Inter Milan.
