Manchester City are eyeing Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor.
The People says City will make a move for Newcastle defender Taylor - but not until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old, slapped on the transfer list by furious Toon chiefs last week, will become a free agent when his contract runs out in June.
And even with all their massive resources, City feel that it will be pointless moving in for the former England Under-21 skipper in January when they can pick him up for nothing a few months later.
When City supremos Garry Cook and Brian Marwood were both working for Nike, they gave Taylor a sponsorship deal when he was still a teenager and have followed his progress with interest.
