Manchester City chiefs are confident Napoli striker Edinson Cavani will move to the Etihad.

Both Cavani's father and brother have suggested the Uruguayan is headed to Real Madrid this summer.

But the Telegraph says City are hoping to announce the signing of Cavani soon after Manuel Pellegrini is appointed as the club's new manager.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis confirmed negotiations with City over his star man last week while in London.
