Man City chief Txiki happy to deal in Carson

Manchester City expect Scott Carson to be ready whenever he is called into action.

The 37-year-old has been a City player since 2019, but has served as third choice shot stopper during most of that time.

Today, the Sky Blues announced that Carson had signed another contract renewal.

“Scott is a real asset to our squad and enjoys a close working relationship with the goalkeepers and coaches," City Director of Football Txiki Begiristain stated.

“We're very happy he has signed a contract extension. I look forward to seeing him support his teammates and train well to ensure he is ready to perform on the pitch when called upon."

Carson himself said: “I'm excited to be staying at City for the 2023/24 season. I love working with Pep, Xabi Mancisidor [goalkeeping coach] and our incredible players every day. Hopefully I can help all of our goalkeepers be at their best."
