Manchester City are joining the battle for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.

The Mirror says City are confident of pipping Liverpool to the signature of Monaco's Lemar as one of two major signings they plan to make this summer.

Pep Guardiola has been monitoring the wingers performances in France, and is now set to swoop to bring him to the Etihad.

The City boss will not prioritise a move for January target Riyad Mahrez, but could move for the Leicester man should he be unsuccessful in his pursuit of Lemar.

Lemar is also interesting Liverpool and Arsenal, which both tried for the Frenchman on deadline day last year.
