Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini stands by the decision to sell Scott Sinclair to Aston Villa.
Pellegrini says he has no regrets about allowing players like Jack Rodwell and Sinclair to leave, insisting it is up to young players to prove they can make it at City.
He said: "I don't think they will not get the chances.
"It is the responsibility also of the player also to demonstrate why they are fighting for a place in the first team. It is not as easy as the more competitive your squad is the more difficult it is for young players.
"I can't regret about decisions we took in the past. If I see all those players having brilliant seasons in other teams, I don't see them, playing often every week and being stars in other teams. So I think the decisions we took in the past were with our reasons and in the right way."
