Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini expects to have Sergio Aguero fit in the New Year for their Champions League clash with Barcelona.

Pellegrini confirmed his rehab is on schedule and he will be back in January - a month before the Champions League last-16 clash with the Spanish giants.

The Argentine ace is out until after Christmas with knee ligament damage.

"He's a magnificent player, he throws the other teams off balance, he's going to be one of the best in the coming years."
