Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini admits he's not counting on Robinho for the new season.
Mancini recognised very quickly that it would be better if Robinho played his football elsewhere.
He said: "For me, Robinho is a good player. I spoke with him in January and I asked him if he wanted to stay. He said no.
"He wanted to go back to Brazil because of the World Cup. That was it, as far as I was concerned. He didn't want to be part of it so there was no point in me having him at the club.
"I told him, if he wanted to stay, it was not a problem - though it would be important that he worked and played for the team but it was his decision. He decided to go."
