Man City boss Lillo tells Fulham: Questionable goals even out

Manchester City assistant manager Juanma Lillo was happy with victory over Fulham.

Erling Haaland struck a hat-trick as City won 5-1.

Lillo said, "No game in the Premier League is easy. Yes it is true that the scoreboard is more weighted in our favour today but it does not reflect the first half that we had. It was far away from the scoreline that it looked.

"In the second we were better, I wouldn't say 5-1 better, but we went to a different level in that second period.

On the controversy around Nathan Ake's goal before halftime, he added: "My opinion doesn't matter much as I am not a manager but I will say this, last week against Sheffield United we suffered a similar goal.

"The officials explained to us that the issue is whether the player is in the line of the ball, the striker ended up clashing with Eddy [Ederson] and wasn't in the line of play, so that is why the goal was given. In this situation today Akanji is much further from the line of the play. It went against us last week but went for us today.
