Manchester City boss Mark Hughes was pleased with Micah Richards' performance as stand-in captain for Sunday's defeat to Aston Villa.

"On Sunday I thought he stuck at it well and led from the front. He's an organiser, and with his athletic ability plus his desire to do well, that's going to help him," Hughes told City's website.
